Relying on their multiple-decade experience, the accredited service laboratories of Bonafarm Agriculture in Mohács and Nagyigmánd offer reliable physical, chemical and microbiological tests of soil, plant, water, sewage, irrigation water, cereal, forage, feed and food samples. In the course of our laboratory development activities we installed state-of-the-art automated systems suitable for performing a high number of accurately controlled measurements.
What can we offer our customers?
- Determination of mycotoxin contamination
The infection of plants and their crops with moulds is a long-known problem in agriculture. The presence of different moulds on agricultural crops decreases the crop yields and the saleability of produce; in addition, mouldy feeds may lead to inadequate growth, reproductive disturbances, diseases and even massive mortality in farm animals. The analytical techniques available in our laboratories enable us to accurately and rapidly determine the presence of the following mycotoxins in the submitted samples: DON, zearalenone, aflatoxins, HT2, T2, nivalenol, fumonisins, ochratoxin, DAS, D3-glucoside, GMP+ accredited aflatoxin B1.
- Proximate composition (Weende) analysis
In the past century, an analytical method was developed for the evaluation of feeds and determination of their nutrient content in Weende (Germany). The principles of the method have remained unchanged ever since. Using our state-of-the-art measuring instruments we can determine the crude protein, crude fibre, ether extract (crude fat), starch and sugar content of feed samples.
- Tests of genetically modified organisms (GMO)
Genetic modifications of plants serve a variety of purposes, among others increase the resistance of plants to herbicides or insect pests, increase drought tolerance or improve the nutritional value (among others the vitamin content) of the crops. Currently the most common genetically modified (GM) crops are soybean, cotton, rapeseed and maize. It is compulsory by law to mark whether a feed or food is genetically modified.
Our laboratory offers qualitative and quantitative analytical tests of GM soybean and maize samples in compliance with the requirements of the Global G.A.P. certification.
- Microbiological tests
The microbiological tests of feeds and foods make it possible for producers to monitor whether their product meets the regulatory requirements and hygienic standards.
Our laboratory offers conventional culturing and rapid DNA-based microbiological tests (in the case of pathogenic microorganisms such as Salmonella spp., Listeria spp., Listeria monocytogenes, E. coli O157) of feeds, foods, surface hygiene, environmental and water samples as an aid in the above monitoring activity.
- Rapid method for the qualification of your forage
The forage samples submitted to the laboratory in Nagyigmánd are pre-dried, their dry matter content is determined and then the samples are chopped. This is followed by determination of the near infrared (NIR)spectrum of the sample. The NIR spectra are sent to the staff of Dairyland laboratory in the US, who send back to us the results in a few hours’ time, so the full analytical profile can be made available to you within 48 hours.
- Innovative animal nutrition
It is a big challenge to produce safe and traceable feeds and foods of sufficient quantity and good quality under the increasingly challenging environmental and economic conditions, and to do this in a way that presents the lowest possible burden to the environment.
Thinking together with our customers, our team consisting of chemical engineers and biologists can offer you a wide variety of tests to help you in product development, troubleshooting and project implementation.
Are you interested in the amino acid or fat-soluble vitamin profile, mineral and trace element composition or omega-3/omega-6 ratio of your product? Do you want to know what veterinary medicinal active substance does your product contain? Do you have problems with the colour of your eggs?
